Frequently Asked Questions

  • The standard container houses do not comply with current building codes, as they fail to meet the required minimum roof height of 2.4 meters. However, the pod-style and extended-height container houses are fully compliant and legally approved for use as residences.

  • As of June 12, 2024, the legislation stipulates that an ancillary dwelling does not require planning approval provided it meets all relevant deemed-to-comply requirements. This includes limitations such as not exceeding 70m² and adhering to the setback regulations specified in the local planning scheme for your area. In most cases, an ancillary dwelling is not required to provide a parking bay, except for those located in higher-density zones or in areas where access to public transport is limited, necessitating the use of a private vehicle. We do, however, advise that all customers conduct their own due diligence and research prior to making any decisions.

  • We offer the flexibility to customise certain layouts to better accommodate the specific needs of our customers, within reasonable design parameters.

  • Typically, from the date of deposit, it takes approximately four months for us to receive the container unit at the Fremantle wharf. Please note that this timeframe is subject to fluctuations based on container availability and seasonal factors, which may affect delivery. Unfortunately, these aspects of the process are beyond our control.
